Therapy tailored to your needs
I offer individual therapy on an open-ended basis or for an agreed period of time. The sessions often have a structured approach and fall on the same time and day each week, unless agreed otherwise. Depending on what you want to achieve from therapy, I work together with you to help you understand and make sense of your difficulties, as well as to develop effective coping skills and strategies to move forward.
The fee for an initial consultation is £100.
The fee for a session is £100 (I reserve a few spaces at the lower fee structure for students/trainees and those who are on lower incomes). This is payable by cash at the appointment or by bank transfer in advance before the appointment.
For therapy sessions funded by private health insurance, please contact your insurer beforehand to arrange authorisation of your sessions. I am a recognised practitioner with Bupa, Aviva, Vitality Health and AXA-PPP.
A full fee will be charged when a client misses or cancels a session without giving 24 hours notice or more. You can cancel your session by emailing info@mindbodydynamics.co.uk, or contacting me on 07414 132700.
There are quite a few things that are taken into consideration. One of the main factors being the nature of the work as a psychologist, and obviously the time spent with a client in a session. Other factors typically include session preparation, practice of skills and strategies, creating bespoke psychology resources and documents that are tailored to a client’s needs, phone support between sessions (as per therapy contract), note-taking and room fees.
The fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances such as a serious illness or an emergency. It may also be waived if the client can reschedule their appointment within the same week, based on room availability. This may incur an extra charge to cover the new room booking.
In the initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. This usually involves asking questions about your background and understanding your needs, as well as what you would like to achieve in therapy.
It is also an opportunity to see if I am the right psychologist for you, to ask any questions and voice particular concerns. You are under no obligation to commit to working with me after the first meeting if you feel that I am not right for you.
If you decide to pursue therapy, a session usually takes place once a week but no fixed number of sessions is required. It depends on your personal needs and circumstances and what you want out of therapy. This can be discussed and negotiated with me in the initial meeting and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Your privacy is very important to me and you can be confident that your personal information will be kept safe and secure and will only be used for the purpose it was given to me.
I adhere to current data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU/2016/679) (the GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.
While you are accessing therapy everything you discuss with me is kept confidential. That confidentiality will only be broken if you disclose information about a criminal offence or conduct that puts others or yourself at serious risk of harm, during judicial proceedings where a court orders disclosure, or during professional clinical supervision (your full name will not be shared with the supervisor). I will always try to speak to you about this first, unless there are safeguarding issues that prevent this.
I will keep a record of your personal details to help the therapy services run smoothly. These details are kept securely and are not shared with any third party. After therapy has ended your records will be kept for seven years, in line with guidance from my insurer, and then securely destroyed.
You have a right to ask me to delete your personal information, to limit how I use it, or to stop processing it. You can also ask for a copy of any information I hold about you. To make a request, please email info@mindbodydynamics.co.uk.
